About소개
Yunkyong Jin is a Korean piri and saenghwang performer, researcher, and professor at Korea National University of Arts. Certified in Korea’s National Intangible Heritage tradition of Piri Jeongak and Daechwita (isuja), a former deputy principal member of the National Gugak Center Creative Traditional Orchestra, and winner of the 2018 KBS Gugak Awards Wind Instrument Prize, she has presented solo recitals, recordings, orchestral collaborations, and research-based performances in Korea and abroad. Since relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2026, she has explored how Korean traditional sound can take root in new cultural environments. Her work connects performance, history, migration, memory, and interdisciplinary collaboration, expanding the contemporary possibilities of Korean wind instruments and creating intimate encounters between traditional sound and diverse audiences.
진윤경은 피리와 생황을 연주하는 연주자이자 연구자이며, 한국예술종합학교 교수입니다. 국가무형유산 피리정악 및 대취타 이수자이고, 국립국악원 창작악단 부수석 단원을 지냈으며, 2018년 KBS 국악대상 관악상을 수상했습니다. 독주회와 음반, 오케스트라 협연, 연구 기반 공연으로 국내외 관객을 만나왔습니다. 2026년 샌프란시스코 베이 에어리어로 옮긴 뒤, 한국 전통의 소리가 새로운 문화 환경에 뿌리내리는 방식을 탐구하고 있습니다. 공연, 역사, 이주, 기억, 학제 간 협업을 잇는 작업으로 한국 관악기의 동시대적 가능성을 넓히고, 전통의 소리와 다양한 관객이 가까이 만나는 자리를 만듭니다.

피리 Piri
A bamboo double-reed pipe with a penetrating, voice-like tone. It carries the melody in court, ritual and folk music.대나무 겹설 관악기로, 사람의 목소리처럼 깊고 날카로운 음색을 지녔습니다. 궁중·제례·민속음악에서 선율을 이끕니다.
생황 Saenghwang
A mouth organ of 17 bamboo pipes with free reeds. It sounds in sustained chords, like light held in the air.17개의 대나무 관과 자유 리드로 이루어진 입풍금입니다. 화음을 길게 이어 내며 공기 속에 빛을 머금은 듯한 소리를 냅니다.
태평소 Taepyeongso
A loud conical double-reed horn for outdoor processions, farmers’ band music and shaman rites. It opens a celebration.야외 행렬, 농악, 무속음악에서 쓰이는 우렁찬 원뿔형 겹설 악기입니다. 잔치의 시작을 알립니다.
